Comments

When visitors leave comments on the website, the site collects the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitors’ IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from the visitors’ email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to verify if the visitors are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After the approval of the comment, the visitors’ profile picture may become visible to the public in the context of the comment.

Cookies

If visitors leave a comment on the site, they may opt in to save their name, email address and website in cookies. These are for their convenience, namely, to avoid to fill in their details again when they leave another comment. These cookies expire after a year.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Various pieces on this site may include embedded content (i.e., images, videos). Embedded content from other websites may act in the exact same way as if one has visited the other websites.

These websites may collect data about the visitors, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor their interaction with that embedded content, including tracking their interaction with the embedded content if the visitors have an account and are logged in at the time in those websites.

Retention of Visitors’ Data

If visitors leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, so that the site can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in the moderation queue.

All visitors can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). The website administrator can also see and edit that information.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Visitors’ Rights Over Their Data

If visitors have left comments, they can request to receive an exported file of their personal data, including any data that they have provided. They can also request to erase any personal data, but this does not include any data that the site is obliged to keep for administrative, legal, and security purposes.
